Project overview
Melbourne’s tram network consists of a whopping 250km of double track and boasts the title of largest tram network in the world. Using GPS beacons built into every tram stop, TramTRACKER® serves more than 30,000 real-time schedules to millions of Melbourne commuters every day.
Working in collaboration with Appscore as lead designer, I helped to create an enhanced commuter experience for Yarra Trams’ TramTRACKER®, Melbourne's official tram scheduling application.
The Challenge
Our challenge was to re-think their existing tracking app to provide an intuitive user experience for their commuters and to give the app a clean new look to compliment the iOS aesthetic, whilst retaining Yarra Trams brand identity.

Working closely with Yarra Trams, we identified that commuters were not happy with the current solution, which although provided accurate schedules, the interface was cluttered and hard to read. Users needed a way to easily plan journeys while on the move, so readability and convenience of use was priority.
